Bienvenue

Welcome to paradise !

Florissum opened its Bed and Breakfast at the beginning of August 2021.

After more than six years of search and multiple visits in various regions, we finally found what we had been looking for nearby the wonderful village of Uzes, in “Le Gard” in the “Occitanie” region.

Florissum is the result of 18 months of an intensive renovation project (despite the fact that the property was in good reasonable state) carefully planned improvements plus the construction of a new building, The Orangerie, that needed to respect the historical charm.

The estate has been expanded in several stages over the past two or three centuries.

Your Hosts

Pia, a Swedish bird who speaks 6 languages fluently, will be happy to welcome you at Florissum. Pia’s passions are: taking care of her guests, gardening, interior design and making sure her husband won’t get too lazy (hopefully there is quite a bit of maintenance to do on the property)!

Gaël, Pia’s husband, was born and raised in Paris. A mother from Brittany and a father from Great Britain produced an original cocktail. Gaël later migrated to Sweden where he spent 31 years; prior to returning to France, to settle with Pia in this magnificent region of the Gard, which certainly will surprise you nicely.

Many details are meant to create a very pleasant atmosphere, such as the high ceiling built with large roof beams, the central fireplace, the huge wrought iron windows, produced in similar fashion to traditional craftmanship and encircled by carved stones, like those being used at the Pont du Gard. In the evening the lights produced with old oak barrels and those with copper will add to create a romantic feeling.
