Le Mas de Castellargues – Old Cottage 18th Century
Wide spaces, very thick stone walls, old beams, old terracotta tiles, wrought iron windows and doors, travertine, a fountain produced with similar stones being used at the Pont du Gard, old roof tiles … If you fancy cultural well-preserved stone cottages, most likely you will love this place.
In spring and autumn, you will be lulled by the song of birds (Pia has identified 25 different species). In summer, it is mainly the song of the cicadas that will keep you company.
The Marvelous Garden
Like many people in UK, Pia is passionate of gardening.
With a plot of 2.7 hectares or 7 acres there is certainly a lot of potential and it’s all changing pretty fast. When we first arrived, there was a good starting point, with olive trees, white oaks, cypresses, fig trees, rosemary, lavender and wild orchids, for example. Since 2020 we have already planted a mix of hundred shrubs, plants and trees.
It’s such a pleasant feeling to be able to take full advantage of the climate; however, it is a bit challenging with so short rain periods. We hope that you will find the result appealing.

The Orangerie
Gourmet breakfasts are being served in the orangery, a beautiful building of 49.5 sqm recently built which respects the history and style of “Le Mas de Castellargues” (double-sided stone walls, big beams, beautiful framework, cut stone, wrought iron carpentry) whose first buildings would have been built at the beginning of the 18th century. For additional comfort and in order to comply with current sanitary conditions, the tables are placed at reasonable distance from one another. During colder periods the central fireplace will bring additional charm and help to warm up the space, like in the good old days.
Relaxation
The Pool side
Right beside the orangery, the swimming pool is one of the jewels of our estate. It will probably surprise you with its beauty and its size 19.5 x 5 m (65×15 foot), the white pebbles and the plantations all around, the peaceful area and the subtle lighting at the end of the day.
Each room has its own space reserved by the pool, with large bamboo lounge chair plus a mattress for each guest and a large parasol (for two). Shower before swimming or bathing is mandatory and a few meters aside from the pool.
The pool is heated during certain times of the year, all depending on weather conditions. During the winter period the swimming pool is closed however. For more information, please contact us.

Parking and safety
Customers have at their disposal a partly shaded parking space under the plane or pine trees, inside our private domain.
Access to the estate is made passing through a wrought iron gate (4 meters wide). The opening is controlled and monitored by an intercom.
For your safety and ours, the property is equipped with video surveillance equipment, in common ground and in shared areas, as well as in the owner’s private spaces.
